We are now looking forward the exhibiting at the Greenbuild conference being held in Philadelphia, PA, November 18 - 23.  We will be in the Expo Hall the 20 & 21 booth # 4042, stop and say hello!

It’s been almost a month since we returned from Metalcon 2013 and we have finally caught up!  It had been a great week of putting a face to the name.  Handshake after handshake was given as introductions were made and people were recognized.  It was a wonderful week.

Our trip to Atlanta started with a 6 am flight.  I know what we were thinking, right?  But since we had only a limited time to get our display built we had to get there early.  There were five of us to clean, build and put the finishing touches to our display.  We were done by late afternoon and boy were we tired, but our display looked great!

The team had dinner at one of the nearby restaurants in Atlanta.  The food was awesome as well as the company.

Tuesday was the first day of the show and it was very exciting!  We met our neighbors and enjoyed the camaraderie of the event.  Metal Plus was videoed for a spot in the Best of Metalcon 2013! 

Mario demonstrated our brackets at Solar Bay. Along with a presentation, he responded to audience questions and provided thoughtful and authoritative answers.  That evening the Metal Plus team attended a reception for the Metal Construction News in the Atrium Terrace of the Omni Hotel.  The reception celebrated the inductees to the Metal Construction Hall of Fame.  The reception gave everyone a chance to unwind and mingle while enjoying  some fabulous food!

Wednesday flew by as people milled about asking questions and watching demonstrations given at booth # 800.  More handshakes and acknowledgements were made, finally a face that goes with that email! LOL!  We took the time to have our picture taken as a remembrance of the event and a motley crew we are!

The last day of the show was slow.  Despite that, Metal Plus LLC and s-5! had photos taken as the announcement of Metal Plus becoming s-5!’s newest distributor was made.  Rob Haddock and Mario had photos taken of THE handshake solidifying what should be a long and prosperous business relationship for years to come.

As with all good things the show ended we said good bye to our new friends and broke down our display. We flew home on Friday, boy were our arms tired hahaha, sorry just had to. 

We now have our sights set on Greenbuild being held in Philadelphia, November 20 – 22.

Metal Plus Wins Best New Product Award At 2012 International Roofing Expo

Metal Plus displayed its range of installation products at the 2012 International Roofing Expo as part of its booth in the exhibit hall. The Ultimate Bracket, which won the IRE Best New Product Award, is shown in the photos below.

Ultimate Bracket Helps Metal Roofers And Solar Installers Improve Safety And Productivity During Installation
Orlando, FL - Judges of the Product Showcase‘s “Best New Product” and “Best Green Product” at the 2012 International Roofing Expo (IRE) chose first, second and third place winners based on a selection of 30 products.
Combining the former New Product Pavilion and Green Pavilion into one showcase area, the Product Showcase featured the hottest industry trends and the latest new, cool, green and safety products in a direct, non-selling environment.
Best New Product Honorees
The judges, comprised of a panel of industry experts, selected the “Best New Product” winners based on innovation, productivity and cost-effectiveness, while the “Best Green Product” winners were based on innovation, green/sustainability and overall value.
Metal Plus, based in Winstead, CT, was awarded “Best New Product” for its Ultimate Bracket, designed to enable metal roofers and solar installers to install their systems safely and efficiently. Made in the USA, the Ultimate Bracket adjusts from 3:12 to 24:12 roof slopes and features a double start crank shaft system which can be used to adjust the tool one degree at a time.
This IRE award follows the best new product honor that Metal Plus received for its display in the 2010 New Product Harbor at the METALCON show in Tampa, FL.
Other features of the Metal Plus Ultimate Bracket include: a high grade powder coating finish to prevent corrosion; custom designed rubber pads on the base to prevent roof damage; accommodation of 2 x 8 and 2 x 10 wooden planks; easily and quickly can be installed and removed with one hand; and 300 lbs. rated wet or dry, following OSHA requirements with proper fall arrest systems and tie downs. Capturing second place for the 2012 IRE Best New Products was CertainTeed Roofing, headquartered in Valley Forge, PA, for its CertainTeed Apollo and Power Max solar systems.
Third place was awarded to Tie Down Engineering, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, for its Steep Slope Guardrail, an OSHA-compliant bracket that easily adjusts to five pitch positions.
Best Green Product Honorees
Petrolia, Ontario-based SofSurfaces was awarded “Best Green Product” for its SofTile AP, a highly durable, resilient interlocking roof paver made from almost 100 percent post-consumer recycled content.
Capturing second place was Lifetime Tool & Building Products, based in Winchester, VA, for its Ultimate Pipe Flashing compression ring that accommodates roofs ranging from flat to very steep.
Third place was awarded to MAXIFLO, headquartered in Laval, Quebec, for the Maxi-Pro commercial flat roof ventilator.
“Our congratulations go out to all six award winners," said Lindsay Roberts, Director of the Expo. “What makes the award winners stand out is they are particularly attuned to and passionate about innovation, creativity and fresh designs.”
